giving back {Sandy clean up: day 23}

today was enlightening…
touching
meaningful
humbling
inspiring
a blessing…

our mission – to “mud” out a church in A.C., that was heavily damaged by hurricane Sandy.

“we” – a group of 28 individuals from Valley View Community Church.

the organization – was Samaritan’s Purse, a wonderful organization started by Franklin Graham (who also runs Operation Christmas Child).

as much it wasn’t what I expected (I thought I’d be knee-deep in mud, debris, sand, water with things falling from above and us trying to guard our lives), but nonetheless it was safer and AMAZING!

this experience was my baby step before I make it to Haiti. I needed to start small, and when this was announced at church this past Sunday I felt in my heart that I needed to be there…to feel what it is like to firsthand give back.

so this was our experience…
